Terms of Service
Last updated: May 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of hostingpundit.com (the “Site”). By visiting the Site, subscribing to the newsletter, leaving a comment, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
Content is informational, not advice
Everything published on HostingPundit — deploy guides, platform comparisons, infrastructure analysis, newsletter takes — is for general information. It reflects our experience and opinion at the time of writing.
It is not professional advice for your specific situation — technical, legal, financial, or otherwise. Production infrastructure decisions depend on your workload, budget, compliance constraints, and tolerance for risk. Do your own verification before betting a business on anything you read here.
No warranties
The Site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties — express or implied — about accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Pricing, features, and platform behaviour change quickly in this space; an article that was correct on the day it was published may be out of date the next week. We do our best to update; we can’t promise everything is current.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HostingPundit and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site or reliance on its content. This includes — but isn’t limited to — lost revenue, lost data, runaway cloud bills, failed deployments, or business interruption. If you make an infrastructure decision based on something you read here and it goes sideways, that’s on you. We’re a publication, not your SRE team.
User-generated content (comments)
When you post a comment, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and adapt that comment in connection with the Site (including showing it under the article it relates to, and quoting it in newsletters or social posts crediting you).
You agree not to post:
- Spam, low-effort link drops, or affiliate links of your own
- Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, or threats
- Confidential information that isn’t yours to share
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights
- Anything illegal in the jurisdiction you’re posting from
We moderate comments and reserve the right to edit or remove anything, for any reason, without notice. We’re not obliged to publish or preserve any comment.
Intellectual property
All editorial content on the Site — articles, screenshots we captured, custom graphics, the “HostingPundit” name and visual identity — is owned by HostingPundit unless explicitly credited otherwise. You’re welcome to quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back. You may not republish entire articles, paywall our content, train a commercial AI model on our archive, or pass our work off as your own.
Third-party trademarks (Railway, Fly.io, Vercel, Cloudways, and others) belong to their respective owners and are used here for descriptive, editorial purposes only.
External links
We link to lots of third-party platforms, docs, and providers. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We’re not responsible for their content, availability, or what they do with data once you land on them. A link is not an endorsement of every page or claim on the linked site.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, where HostingPundit is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from your use of the Site shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Japan, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
Before any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it directly — most things get sorted faster over email than over a courtroom.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
